SUMMER FUN and Protection
This summer, make sure your pet is protected from the sun and heat. Did you know that pets can get sunburned, heat stroke and even skin cancer? Shaving pets with a lot of fur is not recommended because the fur and hair actually protects them. To protect your best friend be sure to use pet safe sunblocks when out and about, always provide shade and plenty of water in the hot weather. Carry a portable water bowl during long walks and when traveling. Our Ultimate Retractable Leash Plus has a removable pop up water bowl and other handy features too.

I had my first NON anesthetic dental cleaning today with Dahlia in New Paltz. Mom was thrilled. I didn't know what to expect, but Dahlia was very calming and soothing. She even showed Mom how to hold me to clean my teeth herself...Usually, I squirm and wiggle and fight to get away. No more rubber finger brush...Dahlia told Mom to use a baby toothbrush or a washcloth for the best results...And of course, people toothpaste should never be used...only special toothpaste for pets. No more Dragon Breath for me! Mom is relieved...at my age, it isn't good for me to have anesthesia and good dental health is so important for pets. Poor dental health can shorten a pet's life unnecessarily. For more information about Non anesthetic pet dental cleaning check out this web site:

Yesterday I went to a fun birthday party for my new friend Tail. There were balloons, a big dog bone and doggie ice cream... The doggie ice cream didn't interest me much until Mom put some on her finger for me to lick off. Tail's canine mom Daisy sure liked it...she wore it well too!

Well, it isn't really a "New" site, just updated and on a new platform---whatever that means. More bells and whistles I guess. The Wholesale site is now part of this site too, which will allow Mom to make wholesale changes herself. As for me, it just meant a lot of late nights hanging out in the office and listening to Mom curse about advanced variants. Oh well, hopefully it will be worth all the effort and our retailers will be able to see more information and pictures for each product.

Happy Birthday To Me!!
I am 12 years old today and can still run circles around Mom when I want to play catch me if you can. This morning I had an extra treat for my birthday...some cookie crumbs on top of my kibble and then of course, my regular treat after I was a good girl on the paper. Can't wait to see my treat tonight... I think Mom is roasting a chicken...my favorite! I am 12 now, so that means A Pet's World will be 12 this summer or officially, the first day Mom delivered a shipment...Sept. 29th. How time flies when you are cute and carefree like me!
March 29, 2009
How time flies! I can't believe it has been so long since I have written--an eternity of tummy rubs for sure! Mom has been really busy...Now she is promoting a new book for pet owners... The Pet Plan and Pet Trust Guide...something every pet owner should have! But do you think she has filled out her copy yet? Nope! She better fill it out soon, I need to know who is going to take care of me if something happens to her...Well, I sort of already know that it will probably be Mom's cousin Terri...but those big dogs they have are too rambunctious for me...I am getting too old and they are much too playful. Nothing better happen is all I can say.
Mom has also been busy signing up on Twitter and Facebook, but she isn't very good at posting ...She needs to get busy and get the new Spring items up, that is her priority this week. I will let you know when she has them on the site. I know that there are new T shirts, some cool leashes and of course, new dog hair bows.

Doggone Hot Day
It sure is hot today! Please don’t forget that pets feel the heat too and need protection, especially little ones like me that don’t have fur. I have hair just like people and my skin is very pink so I can get sunburned easily. A cool cotton doggy T shirt helps to protect me from the hot sun. Dog clothes also help when we go inside and the air conditioning is too cold. On this web site, we have a lot of tips on how to protect your pet in warm weather. One of the most important things to remember is never, ever leave your pet inside of a car on a hot day. Sometimes even opening the windows is not enough. My new Friend
Last Monday, Mom and I were out for a walk and a little white Maltese came running up a driveway to greet us. Mom was afraid the pooch would run into the road so she scooped her up and walked toward the house down the driveway. The dog's Mom came out and introduced herself and Tina Sparkle, her Maltese. Tina Sparkle is 10 years old and was rescued from a shelter in TN 6 years ago. She was so active and bubbly that we thought she was a puppy. She even dances for treats the way I do. We became fast friends. Tina Sparkle's parents, Sue Westin and John C. Pitcher are well known artists with a beautiful gallery in Dorset, VT. The name is Gallery on the Marsh and they have a web site: www.GalleryOnTheMarsh.com Sue is known for her commissioned portraits. Her pet portraits are outstanding. If you are thinking about a portrait of you and your pet, you should definitely call Sue . Her phone number is 802-867-5565. Tell her Lilly from A Pet's World sent you!

Fashion Show on Pet Talk!
What a fun time we all had taping the fashion show at Cablevisions CH 12 in CT this past Sunday! All the dogs were so nicely groomed and looked fabulous in the new Spring Fashions from A Pet's World. We were extremely well behaved too, considering most of us had never met before and we were sharing the small green room. Well, I did bark some since Mom was setting up and getting ready and out of site for a bit. Poncho talked and talked in the green room, while Little Zoey ran all over the studio checking everything out for us.
Zoey opened the show and looked super cool in our Made in the USA tank top and really seemed to enjoy hanging out in the convertible airline pet carrier on the runway. Her Dad looked so handsome carrying her too. Mom really wanted Zoey to wear the pretty pink Posy embroidered tank top, but thought her Dad would appreciate a sportier look. Teddy, the 70 lb Schnoodle from Cornwall, NY was quite dapper in his rep tie Combo Martingale collar and leash set. He seemed to be flirting with the pretty host, Lauren Collier. Teddy's new 3 month old adopted sister Milie May was adorable in her floral printed soft harness and leash outfit. Widget, a more mature model like me, wore the blue pebble print raincoat very nicely while Poncho sported the new Anchor Tank Top. For the finale, Tucker, the handsome spotted groom wore a formal Black H harness, collar and leash ensemble with hand-sewn white bow ties. His innocent looking red headed bride Chardonnay, was so lovely in the White petal flower rosette and pearl collar and leash with one matching hairbow on her left ear.
I wasn't on the runway, but modeled the new Gingham petal flower rosette and pearl ensemble as I sat on Mom's lap and she spoke about all the styles the models were wearing.
A special thanks to Susan for organizing all the CT models, Eileen for her styling assistance and Terri for her bravery handling Teddy and Miss Milie. Allie's assistance with Miss Millie was greatly appreciated, especially after her little "accident" in the hallway. Teddy, Millie and I slept most of the way home while Eileen and Terri assured Mom that no one would notice that she messed up her lines
The fashion show will air this coming weekend May 3rd and 4th on Channel 12 in CT.

I know, I know I have been a bad dog taking so long to post...It was a long cold winter and I preferred to snuggle up behind Mom on the chair in the office. But now that the weather is warmer, I have a lot more energy....It is so nice to go outside and sniff all the green grass and chase the birds and chipmunks and rabbits!
No more heavy coats...Now I am sporting the new dog Tank tops from A Pet's World! I have a different one for every day of the week and every fashion trend! There is a hip Lions Head Tatoo tank top, a pretty green one with a pink sparkling flamingo, another preppy green one with an anchor that I will wear the next time we are on a boat. The Made in the USA tank is cool...it sparkles. My name is embroidered on most of them.
For dress up I like the feminine Embroidered Flower and Sequin Tanks...they are more like dog dresses than T shirts.
I also have a new one piece step in harness with petal flowers and pearls...So comfortable and pretty. The matching fancy dog collar has flowers and pearls all the way around and of course there is a matching dog bow for my hair--(I have hair you know, it is not fur--most people don't realize that)....Anyway, the hair bow is the same flower with pearls as on the harness and collar.
Oops! I almost forgot to metnion that we are going to CT next week to do a fashion show for Channel 12 in Fairfield County.... I can't wait to see all the dogs wearing the new products from A Pet's World! The big dogs get to model the new Martingale collars... I am too small for those, but I hear they are very comfortable for bigger dogs and much nicer than a full chain collar. I promise to log back on and let you know when the fashion show is going to air.

It's Labor Day and Fall is in the air! We noticed last week that the leaves were already beginning to change here in Vermont! It was a very busy summer, that's why I wasn't able to post. Mom had a lot of trade shows to go to attend so I was staying in a nice big house with family on a farm in Orange County, NY while she was in New York City.
Mark your calendar!---September 28, 29 & 30th is the big Sample Sale at TRIXIE & PEANUT in New York---23 East 20th Street between Broadway and Park Avenues. It looks like it will be a cold winter this year so now is a good time to stock up on warm coats and sweaters and avoid the Holiday shopping rush!

OH NO! I have to have my teeth cleaned
The good news is that I had my annual check up and everything is fine--no more signs of the irritable bowel syndrome. The bad news is that I need to have my teeth cleaned by the vet and I am nervous about that. It must be from when Mom was making all that good soft food for me...the chicken, the brown rice and cooked veggies when I was sick and not eating kibble. I won't let her brush my teeth anymore either...No matter how hard she tries, and believe me, she has tried, I will not open my mouth. Even the Dr. had a hard time getting a good look. Well, please say a prayer for me that everything goes OK. You know, they do it when you are sleeping and Mom is very concerned about the drugs.

It's My Birthday!!!
I was born on April 7, 1997 which makes me 10 years old today!I can still run circles around Mom when I want to. Catch me if you can is still one of my favorite games. Hopefully, Mom will let me have all the treats I want on my birthday.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! Mom and I went to Cousin Terri and David's farm for dinner and stayed an extra day to visit. I barely got a taste of the turkey...Mom is always afraid of upsetting my tummy.
I love going to the farm and smelling all the animals and running outside in the morning to tinkle like the big dogs do. Now we are back in the office and Mom is taking care of all the orders that are coming in. There are so many orders for winter dog coats! As much as I like to go visiting, it is always good to come home and hang out in the office.

The holiday rush has arleady started! Mom and I are spending more time in the office than at home these days! Thank Goodness I have my nice new Bed from Whitney Works. Mom bought it for me at a trade show. We still need to get the cushion cover and bolsters for it...so until we do, my old bed is sitting in the new wood framed bed with the paw print cut out in the head board. I really dug up the old bed...Mom always tells me to stop digging, but hey---that's what dogs do!
I got off track there for a bit...my point is that people have been buying up the holiday dog breed ornaments and the Christmas stockings for a month now...The Christmas stockings are popular because you can have them personalized with your pet's name. There is a stocking with dog bone ornaments, which is good for any breed and then there are all kinds of breeds to choose from: Golden Retriever stocking, Dachshunds with long hair and short hair; Bichons; Chihuahuas---Mom never spells that right; Boston Terrier; Maltese; Yorkie and more. There is even a Kitty Cat Christmas stockings with fish bones on it!
It takes about a week or two for the embroidery to be done, so better to order early rather than late.

Little Kids Need Big Dogs
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but Mom has been really busy shipping all the store orders after the trade show in Chicago.
We had company this weekend. Mom's friend Vanessa came with her 5 year old son, Jesse. Jesse sure is rambunctious! At first, he was afraid of me---then he was thrilled when I licked his hand, but not too happy when I picked up his spider ring on the floor. Just a reminder, If you have small children---get a big dog. Small dogs and small kids are not a good combination. Sometimes children don't realize how strong they are compared to a little dog that can easily be hurt with all the jumping around that kids do.

Big Sample Sale Next Weekend!
Mom will be heading to New York for a big sample sale at the Trixie and Peanut store next Friday September 15th-Sunday September 17th. I see all kinds of neat stuff packed for the sale: Designer leather collars and leashes in lots of colors and sizes, embellished holiday collars---including cat safety collars, dog coats, sweaters and even a few of the original totes and airline carriers.
Trixie and Peanut is located at 23 East 20th Street between Park Avenue and Broadway in Manhattan. The store opens at 11 am and closes at 8 pm, except on Sunday when it closes earlier. The last time they had a big sale, people were lined up at the door---so be sure to get there early for the best selection!
Unfortunately, I won't get to go this time either...Mom says it is too busy there and someone might step on me.

Yummy Yummy in my Tummy! Our good friend Jennifer from the Pampered Pup in Palm Beach, Fl sent Mom and me some presents! I have a real pie with berries to eat...it came in a pie tin and everything! I had to take it out of the tin to drag it around the office and the warehouse...I have barely put a dent in it, but it sure is good! I know there are cookies too, but I can't reach them. It's time to sign off now and take another nap.

Pet Fashion Week!
I am still upset that I didn't get to go! Mom was afraid someone would step on me in the busy booth at the trade show and she didn't want me to be all alone in our friend Gail's apartment all day and into the night.
She said it was a great show and there were lots of neat stores that came to visit the booth and place orders for the new fall and holiday items. There was also a big Fashion Show on Saturday night---All the models were fancy show dogs. Well, who has more experience modeling than I do? But did they ask Me to be a model? Nope! I heard a big dog pooped right in the middle of the runway and all the people in the audience laughed really hard---I never would have done that!
Mom sure must have talked a lot because her voice still sounds funny. Well, I am back home now...actually, we are spending more time in the office though than the house these days. At least Mom brought me back some good treats!
Tuesday August 1, 2006
This past weekend was so busy, I had to rest before I could write. We had company on Saturday. Mom's friends and customers Susie and Mark came from NYC for an early dinner with their dogs Peanut and Cookie. We were all very well behaved before and during dinner.
After dinner they left us alone when they took a ride over to the warehouse and office...Well, it didn't take Peanut (a nice sized boxer) long at all to work the rest of the blueberry crumb pie off of the counter and some cheese too. I must say, she did an excellent job of removing the saran wrap. Peanut ate most of the food...Cookie had a little taste of the blueberry pie with the double crumb topping. I was a very good girl and stayed clear. I knew I couldn't have blueberry stains on my face because I was going to be taped the next day for another TV segment on Southern Connecticut's Channel 12 show "Pet Talk."
After Susie and Mark and their kids left, Mom and I drove down to our family's house so we wouldn't have to drive as far on Sunday to CT. I did get to spend a little time with Mom on a raft in the pool...It was so refreshing. We drove back to VT on Monday...That sure was a lot of driving! I slept most of the time in my crate in the back seat. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

HOT Summer Days
It sure has been HOT these last few days! I just want to remind you that not all dogs can swim well, so please be careful with your 4 legged friends and family members around the pool and other bodies of water. I have a vest, but I still don't spend much time in pools because the chlorine and other chemicals are not good for me.

We drove down to Connecticut yesterday so I could make my TV debut on The Pet Talk (Which really should have been last year when we were on Martha Stewart the Apprentice, but the camera didn't show me on the floor). It was a long drive and I was tired, even though I just sat in my crate in the back seat the whole time. I wore the new brown gemstone sweater with the marabou collar for the taping...but I just sat on Mom's lap...We were not filmed until late in the afternoon and by then I was pooped...I had already spent my energy barking at some other dogs that were there.
There was another runway model wearing a dress that matched the people dress. The dog's name is Simon, but since he was wearing a dress, we called him Simone. HeHeHe. He was nice, but I wasn't in the mood to play.
The program was all about Pet Fashion Week---remember I told you about that before? It is August 19 & 20th, in New York City---www.petfashionweek.com. Anyway, they showed some of the new fall sweaters and coats from A Pet's World...so that was cool. The program is going to be on this coming Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th in Connecticut on Cablevision Channel 12. It will be on several times each day.
On Saturday, the segment will air at 9 am, 1 pm and 3:30 pm. On Sunday 9 am and 7:30 pm!
We are going back there on August 6th to talk about A Pet's World and show the viewers more of the products that Mom makes.
After we finished at the TV station, we went to visit Mom's friend Susan who lives nearby. She has a dog a year younger than me named Widget. At first, Widget snapped at me...but later when we went inside, she wanted to play...but I was not in the mood. We went outside and there were other dogs...I was much more interested in the garden, it smelled really good and I just couldn't stay away. It wasn't the flowers though, I couldn't care less about those...It was the fresh fertilizer that Mom confirmed was manure...Yeah, she wasn't too happy about me being in there. I spent most of the time trying to ignore a 2 year old wire haired dachshund named Ellie. She was wired all right. I made Mom pick me up to get away from her.
It was a long drive home and as usual we had to stop at the warehouse so Mom could check for emails. We didn't get to bed until 1 am!!
Oh, Mom's not so sure about that Eye Envy stuff--she says the jury is still out on how well it works.

The Pet Talk
We just got the news this afternoon that I am going to model on a TV show to promote Pet Fashion Week! The taping is in CT this Sunday and the program is called The Pet Talk. Mom ran out to buy some Eye Envy to clear up the tear stains that I have. We have never tried it before, so I will let you know how it works. I suppose I will get a bath on Saturday night too.
Pet Fashion Week is a trade show for the kind of specialty stores that Mom sells to...There is also a big fancy fashion show planned and award ceremonies. The fashion show is a charity event and is open to the public, but you have to get a ticket for it. The trade show is just for retailers. I'm not sure yet if Mom is going to let me go to the trade show with her. I like to bark at all the other dogs that I see and I need a lot of attention. Mom is also afraid someone might step on me.
Oh yes, for more information on Pet Fashion Week check out their site: www.petfashionweek.com
If you are looking for some fun doggie fashions make sure to check out the A Pet's World clothing.

Hello and welcome to my blog on this warm and sunny day...Finally!
Mom is taking me shopping in my favorite pink Bloomin Straw Pet Tote . That's me in the photo all ready to go!
There has been so much rain here that I haven't been able to run around outside because my mom doesn't want me covered in mud. We never know when I might need to pose for a quick photograph to add to the site or send out for an editorial.
It's the 4th of July and I am dreading hearing those noisy firecrackers. But, I am looking forward to some yummy chicken (we call it chicky) cooked on the grill though! Food is definitely a priority for me and I can't wait to sniff around for anything that might fall on the floor.Hope you have a fun and safe weekend!
