Mercerization is a treatment that imparts a permanent lustre to fabrics and yarns. It is the reason our cotton sweaters are so bright. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer dog sweater anywhere! The optional back leg loops help to prevent the garment from riding up, but can be cut off without affecting the sweater.
